If you are anything like me, you always vow to lose a little weight around the first of the year. Then real life hits. We are busy and life comes at you fast. We find ourselves staring down at nuggies and fries and vowing to do better tomorrow!
I just learned that Bob Evans has introduced a Fit from the Farm menu. For you or anyone who has made a new year’s resolution to eat healthier or get fit, this menu has breakfast, lunch and dinner meals to fit any lifestyle. The new menu insert lists calories, fat, saturated fat and sodium levels for each item.
Based on an average 2,000 calorie daily allowance, all Fit from the Farm dishes have:
650 calories or less
750mg or less sodium
35 percent or less total calories from fat
Less than 10 percent of total calories from saturated fats, 0g trans fat , No MSG
Check out the new menu here.
I have to tell you that I was totally impressed with the new menu. I loved, loved, loved the Chicken, Spinach & Tomato Pasta. The best part about the whole thing is that I can get my kids a balanced, hot meal for a great price and not sacrifice my own health! (Have I said that I love Bob's?? )
To kick off the new menu I will be giving away a Fit for 2010 Prize Pack.
*$20 gift card to Bob Evans
*free kids meal coupon
*$2 off $10
*pedometer
*water bottle and jump rope
Just leave a comment on what you think looks yummy on the new Fit menu! I will draw a winner next Wednesday!!

New Items from Bob Evans!
Now you guys know that I love Bobs!! I am especially fond of the fact that I can have Bob Evans food in my own home. (You know... where the kids can be crusty and no one cares when they announce that they have to peeeeeeeee. )
Recently Bob Evans has come out with their great side dishes in single size portions! I was able to sample the single size mashed potatoes and mac and cheese.
I have always been a fan of their refrigerated mashed potatoes. This is really saying something since I am about everything from scratch. That's the great thing about Bob Evans refrigerated products though. They are homemade..... you just don't have to peel 5 lbs of potatoes, boil and mash them. WOOHOO!
Anywho... back to the single size trial. I am just going to keep it real here.... I am not a mac and cheese girl. I know I am weird. But my kids LOVE it. For me this means that I fix a whole box of mac and cheese to have more than half of it sit in my fridge. Of course my kids like fresh mac and cheese. Meaning they won't eat the leftover re-heated mac and cheese. OF COURSE! Wasting anything makes me cringe so these single size appealed to me.
I opened one single serving and was surprised it was perfect to feed my 2 little ones. They gobbled it up with no waste. I noticed as I stirred the mac and cheese, that there was no powdery, dry mess. It was thick and creamy. It almost looked good enough for this non mac and cheese eater to try :)
I tried the mashed potatoes a couple days later. I had some leftover pot roast and was perusing the fridge to see what I could pair it with. My eyes came to rest on the mashed potatoes as I stifled a happy dance. I sure wouldn't peel, cook and mash potatoes just for me but I could pop it in the microwave for a minute! I had a complete meal with no mess and no waste.
If you couldn't tell I am a total fan.
To celebrate my love for all things Bob, I am giving away several Free Bob Evans items. (They are coupons that you can take to your local supermarket and purchase any Bob Evans product for FREE!! ) Just leave a comment telling me your favorite Bob Evans at home product... or ones that you would like to try!
I will pick a winner next Monday!

Bob Evans- changes and a Giveaway!!
I was thrilled last week to be asked to come and view a new Bob Evans test restaurant! Basically they are going to be re-vamping and building some newly designed Bob's in the future and wanted to see what some everyday mamas thought!
2.) They are offering some new options in their restaurants such as wi-fi and plugs under the tables for connectivity, new seating options and my personal favorite...... family restrooms. ( Nothing like having your pants around your ankles, holding your 1 year old on your lap while your 3 year old opens the stall door to announce your business. Good times) Family restrooms means that the daddy can take the kids to the potty.... you know, while mama sips her mocha.
I was all in when they asked because I love me some Bob Evans!! It is very reasonable for a nice sit down dinner but more than that its kid friendly! ( Hello.... no mean looks from people when my 3 year old announces he has to pee... to everyone in a 3 mile radius.)
I didn't realize how many changes are happening at Bob Evans however, so I thought I would share with you guys!
1.) There is a new menu that includes ALOT of wonderful dishes such as chicken parmesan, beef stroganoff , chicken alfredo. They also have new appetizers which includes my personal favorite... apple fries. ( Ok. yum! They actually have these warm cinnamon apples that are deep fried and served with Carmel dipping sauce. ) I am also dying to try their new Carmel mocha.
Beyond all this is the fact that they offer 2 different portion sizes. I am not sure about you but if its on my plate I will eat it, so this is a total God send for me. Its cheaper, less food and saves me some worry over this stubborn baby weight!

3.) Did you know that Bob Evans offers a free kids meal and drink with you sign up for BE Mail ?? One thing I love about this is that they only send you notices is when there are truly good offers. (Free pie on mothers day, special coupons or freebies. ) You can also sign up for the birthday club for your kids in which they will receive a free kids meal on their birthday!
So to celebrate all things Bob, lets give away some fun things. Here's what I am giving away...

Kroger Deluxe giveaway!!
Y'all know that Kroger is my all time favorite store. I think I keep my particular store in business :) What I love the most about Kroger is the value that I feel I get with my money. So of course I did a happy dance when they asked me to try out their Deluxe Ice Cream.
I am ashamed to say that I have never purchased Kroger brand ice cream. Somewhere in the back of my mind, I always thought you had to pay to get premium ice cream. Boy, was this mama wrong!!!
The first thing I noticed at the grocery store was the TONS of flavors that they had. Plenty of choices including low fat and sherbets. I grabbed so many different flavors that I was embarrassed cruising through the store. I mean, if I was pregnant I could probably get away with it.....
This former event planner decided to make a party of it. I invited the neighbors and we had an old fashioned ice cream social. They all commented how good the ice cream tasted and was so surprised when I told them it was Kroger brand!!
My husband said it was the best chocolate chip cookie dough he has ever had. ( Now that is saying something considering that is his all time favorite.) My neighbors liked the Butterfinger crunch and we all about died over the Death by Chocolate. And its low fat. ~~ My neighbors made me show them the package. They said it was too good to be low fat! ~~~
Now you know I keep it real girls. If I didn't think it was good I would just be doing a giveaway and not going on about the quality! The truth is that I really did enjoy it and will be purchasing it from now on. Why pay more for the same quality??
To celebrate, Kroger has agreed to give away a 6 month supply to 1 lucky reader !!! ( In the form of a gift card so you can get your ice cream as you need!) All you have to do is leave a comment on your favorite flavor of ice cream and you are entered!! Make sure you leave your e-mail address. I will pick a winner on Monday.
Good luck!!!
